Benefits of turmeric wellness shots

There are numerous health benefits to turmeric. It contains a compound called curcumin making it a natural anti-inflammatory spice, which can help reduce inflammation in the body. It can also help alleviate a number of conditions including arthritis. Additionally, it has been shown to have potential benefits for heart health, brain health, skin health, and cancer prevention.

Drinking a concentrated form of turmeric is the easiest way to consume a high dose of this powerful spice and experience its potential health benefits. What does a turmeric shot taste like?

This recipe calls for 4 simple ingredients and each provides a unique flavor profile.

The ingredients are:

  1. Turmeric. Turmeric is known for its earthy, musky, and slightly bitter flavor. It also has a beautiful orange-brown color making your dishes stunning to look at!
  2. Coconut water. Coconut water has a mild taste with an ever-so-slight sweetness.
  3. Black pepper. This adds a slightly firey tang to the shot. Black pepper also contains a compound called piperine, which helps to increase the rate at which turmeric is absorbed in the body so pairing the two is highly beneficial.
  4. Lemon. Lemon provides a sour and acidic flavor to the shot.

Combining all four together helps balance each flavor profile making the shot tolerable to consume. If you find it hard to take as is feel free to add it to a cold or warm drink. Give it a good stir and enjoy! I personally like to add it to hot water with a squeeze of honey and it becomes the perfect, healing drink.

how could you use fresh turmeric for to make these?

    1. You could peel, shred, and dry it out and grind it in a food processor to make it into a powder which is easier to add to shots like this !
