Homemade sourdough bagel chips are a delightful snack known for their satisfying crunch and robust flavor. These chips have a unique texture, offering a perfect blend of crispiness with a slightly chewy interior. The taste is rich and tangy, thanks to the sourdough, and complemented by a subtle saltiness that makes them incredibly moreish.
Made with simple ingredients they are both wholesome and easy to prepare. Simply slice the bagels thinly, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with your seasoning of choice, and bake until crispy. The result is a delicious, homemade snack that requires minimal effort and delivers maximum flavor.
The only downfall is they are dangerously addictive 🙂
What are sourdough bagel chips?
Sourdough bagel chips are thinly sliced pieces of sourdough bagels that have been toasted or baked until they are crispy. They are made by slicing sourdough bagels into thin rounds, which are then lightly coated with olive oil and a sprinkle of salt or seasoning of your choice before being baked until golden brown.
The result is a crunchy, flavorful snack with a distinctive tangy taste from the sourdough.
The best part is they aren’t full of any additives or ingredients you can’t understand like the ones sold at the grocery store.
Different dips for sourdough bagel chips
Bagel chips can be enjoyed on their own or paired with different dips to really enhance their flavor. Here are just a few options, but feel free to get creative!
- Hummus: We love a classic hummus but a roasted red pepper or garlic hummus would be delicious too!
- Spinach and Artichoke Dip: Creamy and flavorful pairs perfectly with crunchy bagel chips.
- Guacamole: Tangy & fresh guacamole compliments the savory flavor of bagel chips.
- Pesto: If you are a pesto lover try a basil or sun-dried tomato pesto for a burst of herby goodness.
- Cream Cheese Spread: Keep it plain or try an onion & chive, smoked salmon, or vegetable flavor!
