  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • avocado oil spray

Creamy Tzatziki sauce

  • 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup grated cucumber, squeezed dry
  • 1 tabslepoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • black pepper to taste

Toppings

  • 1 cup diced cucumber
  • 3/4 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup finely diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • fresh parsley
  • lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Stir together all of the tzatziki ingredients and refrigerate while you prepare the tacos.
  2. In a bowl, combine the ground chicken with the oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, pepper, and parsley.
  3. Divide into 8 equal portions (about 2 oz / 57 g each).
  4. Press each portion into a thin, even layer over one side of each tortilla.
  5. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and lightly spray with avocado oil.
  6. Place the tacos chicken-side down and cook for about 3–4 minutes until nicely browned.
  7. Flip and cook another 1–2 minutes until the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) and the tortilla becomes lightly crisp.
  8. Top with cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, feta, plenty of tzatziki, fresh parsley, and a squeeze of lemon.
  9. Storage: Store leftover smashed tacos in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For the best texture, store the chicken, toppings, and tzatziki separately, then reheat the tacos in a skillet or air fryer until crispy before adding the fresh toppings and sauce. Freezing is not recommended once assembled.
